The Botanical Gardens offer a very different place to explore.

Shaldon

Teignmouth’s near neighbour with a very different feel. Peaceful river beach with hundreds of little boats moored nearby or head down Smuggler’s Tunnel for a sea beach visit with a difference. Try the Botanical Gardens on the hill behind for an alternative vista & maybe pop to Teignmouth on the ferry afterwards.

Good For:

Peaceful, sheltered beach with plenty of river activity to watch.

Exploring the Botanical Gardens.

Go to see the monkeys at Shaldon Zoo afterwards.

Maybe best to avoid if:

You want a lunchtime shoot as it can be busy in high season.

Parking is very limited in the village and a 5 minute walk up a steep hill to the main car park.
